The Real Grinches of Christmas: Bible Thumpers

For most of the year, we get our dose of anti-capitalistic drivel from the left.  They are the loudest voices decrying 'exploitation' of people in the third world, 'conspicuous consumption,' 'overdevelopment,' 'corporate greed,' and the like.

Those on the religious right only bare their teeth around Christmas, when they get in a tizzy about commercialism.  This is the time of year when people like this op-ed writer in the Grand Rapids Press get their anti-capitalist licks in.  I can barely quote the article without having an aneurysm.  Safe to say she hates corporations and non-believers, and relishes the thought of sticking it to them.  So much for goodwill towards men.  Maybe she and her kind can help out the left the rest of the year by smashing a few windows at the local McDonald's.
